Salvia is distinctly a different trip from psychedelics and traditional recreational drugs. To even further simplify the process, it’s possible to simply roll or ball up dry Salvia leaves, but taste and texture are greatly sacrificed. Some people even flavor their quids with ingredients like sugar, honey, syrup, Stevia extract, etc. Flavored quids are much less bitter and much more enjoyable to chew and savor. A dried gram of salvia leaves generally costs around $1 but it depends on where you live. The street price for salvia is not stable.
Salvia is not a party drug!
They will last for up to an hour and some people claim even two hours but than gradually fade. Officinalis is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Information regarding safety and efficacy in pregnancy and lactation is lacking. One study in pregnant Palestinian women found infrequent use of herbs, including sage, during pregnancy to be safe. Until further information is available, sage should not be routinely recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
When is a tripsitter essential?

You can also chew fresh or rehydrated dry Salvia leaves in a quid. The effects will be less potent but will last for longer (up to a couple of hours).
Thirdly, once the trip is safe and enjoyable, a memory of the experience is worth nearly as much as the experience itself, and a sitter should protect that memory. There are actually multiple ways to easily and effectively do this. Write down what the person does and says during the trip, clearly and with details so the person can picture their trip later. Salvia is a an amazingly powerful psychedelic, and although its trips are short, they can be quite intense. Some psychonauts will even go as far as to say that Salvia divinorum is the trippiest of all. With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that you should be well prepared before ingesting Salvia.
Health Challenges
When smoking or vaporizing Salvia divinorum, the onset happens fast, peaking within the first 180 seconds and declining after 5-30 minutes. You may feel nothing for the first minutes and any effects you do feel may be diminished by light or noise. Taking a purified tincture is much like quidding, but the onset is much faster. The Salvia genus is a member of the tribe Mentheae and contains many varieties of sage species. As well as Salvia divinorum, other common species are Salvia officinalis, or common sage, and Salvia hispanica which produces edible Chia seeds. Many of the Salvia species are used for ornamental purposes or herbal remedies.
Due to the disorienting effects of Salvia divinorum, it is strongly advised to have a sitter present when taking it. This is particularly important for first-time users and anyone experimenting with higher doses or more effective methods of administration (e.g. vaporizing). Sharp objects and other hazardous items should be removed from the area. Salvinorin A is a potentially illegal substance, and we do not encourage or condone the use of this substance where it is against the law.
Ego loss, or loss of awareness of self, is nearing, causing people to experience “merging” and become “one” with other objects or people in their world. If a user reaches this level, on purpose or by accident, without a tripsitter, they will be in for some deep trouble. A complete lack of awareness combined with blind stumbling can result in countless injuries. Any interaction with people on the outside world is entirely out the window. When properly reached, however, this level is seen as a goal among Salvia users. At this stage, a user should make the decision to sit back, relax, dim the lights, and close their eyes, allowing the closed-eye visuals to take their form and guide salvia dosage chart you into the world of Salvia.
- With a quid, a mid-level dose of Salvinorin A requires about 30g of fresh leaves or 2-8g of dried leaves.
- Salvia appears in thirteenth position of the most consumed drugs, ahead of crack, methylphenidate, methamphetamine, opium, DMT and other substances.
- Sage has been used in traditional medicine for its antimicrobial, antidiabetic, and antioxidant effects.

Cytotoxic effects
Even though this drug is classified as a psychedelic, it is not like any other psychedelic. This substance can cause experiences more bizarre than anything you could ever imagine. Not much is known about Salvia’s interaction with other drugs, so caution is advised. While many people take regular medications alongside Salvia without problems, it is recommended to start out with a small dose and monitor reactions.
